Why did lynsey die in hollyoaks

Mercedes was good friends with Lynsey, although she was angry when she discovered that Lynsey was seeing her ex, Riley. Lynsey had also recently found out that Mercedes had been stalking Mitzeee. Could her desperation to keep her secret under wraps have caused her to kill? At the time the storyline aired, Will was a bit of a wet blanket and his inclusion as a suspect was probably only for humour. On the day of her death, Lynsey walked in front of Will when he was taking a photo and he snapped at her.

Surely no one would be unhinged enough to kill for such a flimsy reason? Sampson swore revenge after Brendan attacked him and was seen watching Lynsey days before she died….

However, when Lynsey witnessed him arguing with Walker, she became suspicious and began pressing Ally for information. In special flash-back scenes, fans were shown exactly what had happened on the afternoon that Lynsey was killed. Walker had gone to visit Lynsey and told her that he was an undercover police office however, they were interrupted by a knock at the door.

The pair argued and Browning ended up strangling Lynsey, whilst Walker remained hidden. Bizarrely, his plan worked! Fans also seemed to like the fact that the death had been kept a secret and Hollyoaks have used this element in various storylines since. Mercedes McQueen Jennifer Metcalfe has also become increasingly deranged in recent weeks and wanted to keep Lynsey quiet after she discovered the truth about her stalking of Mitzeee Minniver. Additionally, Ally Gorman Dan O'Connor and bad boy Walker Neil Newbon had both found themselves struggling to keep their secrets from an inquisitive Lynsey in recent episodes - providing them with a reason to target her.

Brendan's enemy Sampson is also in the frame as he has been trying to settle a score with the club owner. Hassan's first Hollyoaks appearance came in as she starred in the first series of Hollyoaks Later.

She then joined the main show as a regular cast member in Lynsey will be best remembered for her dangerous cat and mouse game with evil Silas , which was the show's biggest storyline last year. Do you think this proves that Lindsey was no match for Silas in the end? From the way we filmed it and the way the scripts were written, it is almost like Lindsey had given up at that point.

It's like she is allowing Silas to take control of the situation. Towards the end of it, she realises that it has gone too far and there is nothing more she can do. She knew she couldn't go any further. Would you have been happy to stay for longer on Hollyoaks if Lindsey hadn't been the Gloved Hand Killer and had stayed a nice person? But when the storyline came out, as an actress you are so grateful to have such a great story and there is only so much you can do with that. Towards the end, it was so exhausting and I don't think I could have carried on playing that character.

I've been so fortunate with my storylines and I think it was the right time to go. Was it a challenge to portray such a major change in your character? When I found out about it, it was just amazing but since I've left, my family and friends have said I am like a different person because you do just go so in on yourself. When you are playing a character for eight hours a day, you almost lose your sense of reality and think you feel depressed even though it is not you.

Also you have to try and find a reality in what you are doing and it was quite hard because it is so far removed from who you are as a person. But it was brilliant and I've had so much support from all the producers, writers and directors.

I was really lucky. Out of all the characters Lindsey killed, which one do you feel most guilty about? Obviously at the beginning I didn't know that Lindsey had committed the murders, as I wasn't the one on set doing it. I was really sad as Mandip Gill was a close friend of mine and I didn't want her - or her character Phoebe - to go.

I didn't want Dr S'Avage to go either - they were the hardest I think. You hate being the cause of someone going. We've heard you're already doing some filming for a new job. Can you tell us anything about that? I will get slapped if I tell you! What are your future plans and ambitions? I have just been so privileged and all these years on Hollyoaks - it was almost like my training. I would love to do some drama. There is so much great British television out there. I would love to do anything like that and I'd love to do more TV.
